Karen L. Barr is president and chief executive officer of the IAA. Before assuming the role of president and CEO in 2014, she served as the IAA’s general counsel for 17 years, with responsibility for the wide range of legal and regulatory matters affecting the investment adviser industry. Prior to joining the IAA, Barr was in private practice at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering (now WilmerHale), where she represented clients in SEC investigations, securities class action litigation, internal corporate investigations, and securities regulatory matters. She received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. 

Todd Brook is founder and CEO of Unchained, a company that helps business leaders harness the power of AI to enhance efficiency and productivity in their organizations. Brook is a seasoned veteran in the technology and marketing industry with over 22 years of experience. He is also the founder and CEO of Envisionit, a full-service digital marketing agency with a particular emphasis on fintech, CPG, and destination marketing, and co-founder of Empowered, a London-based company focused on employee engagement. 

Al Castillo is the vice president of solutions management at SS&C Advent. As the leader of the Managed Services team, he provides guidance to wealth and asset management clients on the most suitable managed services for their business and technology requirements. Castillo has been with the company since 2000 and has served in multiple roles throughout his tenure. He holds a B.S. in Information Technology from University of Phoenix. 

Sean D. Goodwin is a senior manager in the DenSecure group at Wolf & Company, where he works on developing security reviews and managing projects, including security reviews, penetration tests, social engineering, and threat emulation. He has over ten years of experience in consulting and has worked extensively in the financial, healthcare, education, and software sectors. Goodwin holds a B.S. degree in Information Systems Audit and Control from Bentley University and a M.S. in Information Security Engineering from SANS Technology Institute. 

Sonia Kowal is president of Zevin Asset Management. In this role, she manages corporate matters, business practices, and strategic planning; over­sees mar­ket­ing and advi­sor and client rela­tion­ships; and incorporates sustainability discussions into investment decision-making. Kowal also oversees ESG research, proxy voting, and the firm’s corporate engagement strategies. Previously, she was a senior research analyst and head of Ethical Investment Research Services’ Boston office and a portfolio manager and investment research analyst in emerging markets at Baillie Gifford in Scotland. Kowal holds a B.S. in zoology from the University of Edinburgh and an M.S. in investment analysis from the University of Stirling. She is a board mem­ber of the Inter­faith Cen­ter on Cor­po­rate Respon­si­bil­ity and the Investment Adviser Association. 

Anne B. Putnam is chief executive officer of Fenimore Asset Management. Putnam has more than 20 years in the industry, helping guide firm strategy and growth in mutual fund distribution and regional sales. Putnam earned her undergraduate degree from Bucknell University and her MBA from Case Western Reserve University. 

Chat Reynders is chairman & CEO of Reynders, McVeigh Capital Management, which he helped found in 2005. He brings more than 25 years of experience in investment management and social venture investing to his work. In addition to his leadership in the traditional investment management world, Reynders has structured and funded public/private partnerships that have brought more than $150 million in revenue to leading cultural institutions around the world and won numerous awards. He graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. degree in history. 

Jonathan Stern, CFA, is a partner at Berkshire Global Advisors. He leads Berkshire’s Traditional Investment Management coverage, is a member of the Wealth Management coverage team and has extensive relationships across Berkshire’s coverage sectors. Stern joined Berkshire in 1998 and has 40 years of industry experience. During his 25 years at Berkshire, he has worked on transactions across all of the coverage areas including traditional investment management, wealth management, real estate and infrastructure, and the capital markets sectors. Prior to Berkshire, Stern worked at First Fidelity/First Union Bank in a number of finance and corporate development positions. He graduated from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics and received an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University.
